IT HAPPENED!! The interview with the birthmom was successful on Thursday. We just found out this morning! We are so relieved to have that HUGE obstacle behind us!
BEST SCENARIO:
The paperwork will be signed off on Tuesday (probably). Visa appt will be made within a week and he will be coming home the day after the visa appt!
WORST SCENARIO:
Paperwork signed off on Tuesday (probably). Paperwork has to go back to Chicago and then back down to Haiti. Visa appt will be made within a week of paperwork arriving from Chicago. Please keep praying that the paperwork does NOT have to go back to Chicago because it will add on weeks of delays. We really want him here by February 7th, his 5th birthday!
We should know by Tuesday if our paperwork has to go back to Chicago. Our agency is going to check on it. We kind of expect that it will have to go back to Chicago as that is how things seem to go. We are a little hopeful though because the director from the Haitian adoption side said in her email that "paperwork needed to be signed off and visa appt scheduled." She did not say anything about paperwork going back to Chicago. So, that is why our agency is going to verify it.
