Phew...
We have just gotten our I-600 Approval today!!! Yea! This means Todd won't have to travel to Haiti to file it! (He's pretty happy about that!) It's been a mad scramble trying to get everything in order, translated documents, documents from Haiti, etc before October 11th. It's been crazy this past week and stressful not knowing if we would have approval in time. October 11th is the date Caleb has an appointment with Department of Homeland Security for his visa. It had to be approved prior to this date or Todd would've had to travel. We really saw God providing us the answers and contacts all the way this past week in only a way He could do, with His timing. When we found out we had been released from MOI and HAD to have one document we knew it was going to be difficult to get it. What usually would take a lot to get the paper, turned out to be in our hands less than 12 hours later from Haiti! Our agency said that was record timing! We had also received extra documents which Chicago also needed that we hadn't even requested. If we didn't get those we would have definitely gone past our deadline. Getting these documents is no easy task. If they are tied up on someone's desk, no one can get them, not even the lady in charge of Haitian adoptions. So, this was record timing! Just as soon as it looked like we weren't getting anywhere I was put in touch with a lady who specializes in IL adoptions and she was a wealth of knowledge! So now we wait on finding out when we will really be travelling to pick up our boy! Still looking like the end of October if everything continues as planned....
